| Hi All,
I just started using Ease 5 FE and I have some questions about a few things.
1. What the different colors of the surfaces indicate? (from orange to red)
2. I noticed that Ease uses coordinates instead of length, so I need to insert coordinates to make lines. And I also noticed that I can't snap the lines to y, x, z lines like in CAD softwares. Is there a way to snap the lines to y, x, z lines?
I will add more questions if I need help.
Thank you. |

| Hi Jiwon,
1. With respect to your first question:
- Face Light blue: standard Face color
- Face Dark blue: Face hover color
- When you see a thick border around the Face: you are seeing the front side of the Face
- Green: the item(s) is (are) selected
- Red: indicates relationship with a hovered/selected item. For instance, if you hover over a Face in the 3D View, a tile with the respective Face Material would be highlithed in red in the Materials in Use view.
- Brown Face: indicates that there are two Faces in a two-fold configuration. Learn more about why and how to add back Faces here: https://youtu.be/lhkXFU03UNA
- Yellow Face: indicates that there are two overlapping Faces, or duplicated Faces. One Face should be deleted.
- Face countour in red, or parts of the model strongly hilghlithed in red: there is a Hole (a mistake in the building of the model). Learn more about the Hole Outlines Display here: https://youtu.be/A57H9bfALrA?t=1348. In this video you can also learn other room modeling conventions.
2. Room drawing:
No, you can use lenghts too. You can either use absolute or relative coordinates when entering the room. See this tutorial for more details about the room entry tools: https://youtu.be/A57H9bfALrA
You can snap to room axis by pressing X, Y, or Z. Shift+Z is also a possibility. These are also shown in the video above.
Best Regards,
