| In EASE 4, the Optimize RT functionality was invaluable for generating custom materials.
My current workflow for bringing real world RT to an EASE 4 model is to punch in the real world measurements into the Target Value: RT. This gives me an alpha value which I then use to create a wall material for faces which we are not planning on treating.
By leaving the faces we plan on treating as a non-custom material, we can accurately predict the room RT for any treatment we want to add.
Example:
We have a theatre space with a high RT. They would like to bring the RT down but only would want acoustic treatment on the rear wall.
What I would do is create a model with all faces except the rear wall as an "Absorber" material and I would make the rear wall material whatever it is in the real world (Most of the time, Gypboard).
Then in Optimize RT, I would then take real world measurements and input those readings into the "Target Value: RT" column with the "Absorber" material selected. This would give me the Target Value: Alpha numbers that I would then use to create a custom material to replace the "Absorber" material for the room.
This lets us predict to a high degree of accuracy, what the RT of the room will be when we put treatment on the "Gypboard" rear wall.
I admit this may be an esoteric request but it has been very helpful to us in the past.
Thanks. |

| Hi Kyle,
Thanks a lot for your feedback, we highly appreciate it.
EASE 5 is constantly developed based on user feedback, so please donīt hesitate to always send us your wishes as you did above.
Our product management team has regarded your input for future improvements to the software. We cannot publicly disclose yet when a feature that resembles the Optimize RT will be made available, but I can tell you that we do have it in our roadmap.
Sincerely,
Pedro Lima |
